Project Documents

Resource Team Reports

Resource Team Reports provide a blueprint for start-up Main Street projects, offering detailed recommendations in organization, design, marketing and economic development. These reports reflect the adaptability of the Main Street process to local circumstances.

Design Guidelines

Project communities develop design guidelines for the historic main street area using a template (see Main Street manuals) developed by the program for this purpose. These documents reflect project communities’ main street rehabilitation experience. Guidelines support long-term maintenance of historic fabric and encourage compatible new development in the main street area and are often incorporated into municipal plans and development review processes.

Final Reports

Prepared by project communities upon the conclusion of the local Main Street project, final reports document each project’s activities and accomplishments, offer recommendations for continuing initiatives, and offer other communities useful models for building rehabilitation and downtown revitalization.

Please contact the program office to obtain older documents that are currently available in printed versions only.
