
The Alberta Historical Resources Foundation encourages, promotes, and assists with community-based initiatives that preserve and interpret Alberta’s rich heritage. As a Foundation program, Alberta Main Street helps small towns and cities preserve and enhance heritage resources within historic downtown areas and, at the same time, helps these communities to improve their financial viability, vitality, and sense of community.
The program’s vision is to establish a living legacy that identifies, preserves and interprets the historic fabric and spirit of main street Alberta. Our mission is to provide a flexible, community-driven process that preserves the heritage value of historic main street areas and encourages vibrant sustainable communities through partnerships, advice, coordination, guidance and resources.
